INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS LEADERS MAKE MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT ON FUTURE OF GLOBAL FUND

 

Washington, D.C. – Global health advocacy organizations will convene a conference call of international health and business leaders to discuss the future of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (GFATM). The Global Fund has achieved unprecedented results since 2001. Ironically, this success now threatens to undermine the future of the global “war chest” against AIDS, TB and malaria.  

The call coincides with the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland and will focus on the economic crisis’ effects on future funding of the GFATM and global health.
